“Off the Florida Keys, there’s a place called Kokomo
That’s where you want to go to get away from it all
Bodies in the sand, tropical drink melting in your hand
We’ll be falling in love to the rhythm of a steel drum band
Down in Kokomo”

Sounds familiar? The Beach Boys made us all vibe to their Kokomo song back then, And now! Inspired by the song, Intercontinental Chennai has come up with everything similar to what’s being Imagined in the Song.
Excited already? there’s more to it.

Why Goa when Chennai has it all?

Oh yes! Experience Goa like feel in Namma Chennai. Intercontinental Hotels, Chennai Introduces Chennai’s first one of a kind Beach Shack.

As we walked towards the Beach we started to feel the party vibes already.Shack inspired by Tiki culture, Vibrant colours, peppy truck, an uber cool bar counter, Bamboo fences and thatched cabanas.Apt for what a Shack should be.
We took our seats facing the shore and I must admit this was one of the most beautiful feels I have experienced. The chill breeze gently hitting your face while you sip on your drink. Heavenly!
“Afternoon delight, cocktails and moonlit nights
That dreamy look in your eye, give me a tropical contact high
Way down in Kokomo..”

Who doesn’t love the beach, and drink as an add-on? Kokommo is that place which excites you with everything. Top notch food with Amazing Drinks.Moving on to the Food & Drinks,

Starters :
Root & Shoot vegetables | Amritsari Fish Taco | Gambas Aioli | Prok Ribs Thai style
Root & Shoot was a mix of Crispy Fried Kerala Spiced vegetables served in a Sea Shell. Amritsari Fish taco was served like a desi dish.Parota was used as Taco base. Gambas Aioli, Jumbo prawns brushed with Spanish garlic spices. Amazing dish! Pork Ribs is something I’d always for. This one was lil different from the usual, Rubbed with Thai spice and Honey and served with peanut dip. A very different perspective dish.

Mains :

Nattu Kozhi | Nalli Nihari | Alleppy Vegetable Curry | Steamed Rice | Malabari Paratha
The mains majorly was a mix of Indian dishes. Nattu Kozhi curry was Andhra style country chicken curry.Nalli Nihari, amazingly tender lamb shanks. Both the curry went on well with Steamed Rice. Alleppy veg curry, being veg, It did satisfy my taste buds.
Desserts :
Our Take on Affogato
The best part of ICChennai’s dessert is that The whole dessert is an Art. Right from The way it’s curated and The was it has to be tasted. You need to be an artist to enjoy their desserts thoroughly.
Affogato is an  Italian coffee-based dessert but the Chef did his magic on this Deconstructed version of Affogato. Truly remarkable I’d say.
Overall, An amazing experience. A Perfect Getaway from usual boring life. Also, Kokommo, will be ready to screen Flims and Live matches soon.Flea markets to be expected in the coming months.
Kokommo is open from 4 pm to 11 pm.Go for it..
