Handwriting on A5 paper

A5 is the pocket-sized half of A4 — the size of most diaries, field notebooks and small handouts. Deepscribble puts handwriting on A5 paper at its true 148 × 210 mm, with margins and ruling that match a real notebook, so what you preview is exactly what prints. It saves copying a page of notes out by hand when you have already typed them.

True 148 × 210 mm, half an A4

The canvas is real A5 geometry — exactly half an A4 sheet. Line spacing, margins and word wrapping are computed against the actual 148 × 210 mm bounds, so nothing reflows or clips on export. Because each page exports at 1:1, you can also print two A5 pages two-up on one A4 from your print dialog and cut them apart, which halves your paper.

Ruled to match your notebook

Toggle ruling on the A5 page and set the line gap to your diary or notebook spacing, so a pasted-in page sits flush with the printed lines. An A5 ruled page keeps the handwriting sitting on the rule rather than drifting above it. Turn ruling off for a blank card or a clean note.

Pocket notes and half-page handouts

A5 suits the jobs A4 is too big for — revision cards, a half-page handout, a leaf for a small notebook, a quick note to hand round. Type it once and Deepscribble lays your A5 notes down in a steady, even hand. The half-page footprint means less to fold, paste or slip into a pocket.

Print onto your own A5 stock

Export a print-ready PDF, PNG or a ZIP of pages at exact A5 size. 'Print it' mode drops ink only onto a transparent page, so you can run it through your own pre-ruled A5 notebook leaves or letter cards without reprinting the lines. 'Share online' gives the full scanned-page look instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is the page real A5 size?

Yes — the canvas is 148 × 210 mm, exactly half an A4 sheet, so exports drop onto A5 paper at 1:1 with the margins you set.

Can I print two A5 pages on one A4 sheet?

Yes — export at A5 and choose two-up in your print dialog, then cut down the middle. The geometry stays true at 1:1, so both halves keep their real A5 size.

Can I match my notebook's line spacing?

Yes — turn on ruling and set the line gap to your notebook, so pages sit flush with the printed lines, or turn it off for a blank A5 card or note.
